The Wireless Flood Sensor (HmIP-SWD) is part of the Homematic IP smart home system. Detects flooding or increased humidity. When it detects even a minor leak, it immediately notifies the user on the mobile app, which can prevent an accident and avoid the damage that water can cause.

The very small, compact device reliably detects moisture and water on various substrates from a water column height of 1.5 mm.
High performance lenses
In the event of an alarm, the device activates the built-in siren and sends an alarm signal to the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP). The user is then immediately informed of the alarm event via push notifications on the Homematic IP mobile app on the smartphone, and can thus react immediately to a dangerous situation and reduce potential damage to a minimum. This is a way to identify a water leak in a bathroom, utility room, garage or other incriminated part of the building relatively quickly and easily.
Alarm functions
Four flood contacts are integrated in the bottom of the device. The sensor evaluates the magnitude of the electrical resistance between the flood contacts and sounds an alarm if they become conductively connected by moisture or water. This is signalled locally by an integrated acoustic siren with a tone volume of 77 dB. Within the alarm settings, three options are available (moisture detected, flooding or both moisture and flooding).
Brightness sensor
In addition to the alarm via the integrated siren, a flood alarm can also be signalled at any other location in the building if an indoor siren (HmIP-ASIR-2) or an outdoor siren (HmIP-ASIR-O) is part of your security solution.
The additional sirens (HmIP-ASIR-2 and HmIP-ASIR-O) have 9 different alarm tones and 4 LED effects that can be freely configured depending on the alarm input defined by the added Homematic IP smart home element. In this case, one of the warning tones and LED effects can be designed for a flood alarm for easy alarm discrimination.
Protection in case of sabotage
The Flood Sensor (HmIP-SWD) includes an integrated tilt sensor against sabotage. It reliably detects any tampering and triggers an alarm. Inter-instrument communication ensures that the alarm is triggered even without an Internet connection.
Power supply
The 2 AAA replaceable power batteries allow for low maintenance operation and provide extremely long life for up to 5 years. The user is informed by the Homematic IP application when the capacity of the power batteries is reduced to a minimum.
Easy installation
Thanks to its compact size and battery operation, the Flood Sensor (HmIP-SWD) offers easy installation without the need for wiring or fixed installation.
Simply place the device in the selected location. The detector is primarily placed at the location of a potential water leak, such as near a washing machine, dishwasher, heater, etc.
