The 55 mm battery stand (HmIP-DS55) is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and serves as a frame, a practical holder with non-slip feet and a 55 mm battery docking station in one compact device.
Use
All compatible Homematic IP smart home devices with a size of 55 x 55 mm, such as:
HmIP-STH – Temperature and humidity sensor – indoor
HmIP-STHD – Temperature and humidity sensor with display – indoor
HmIP-WTH-2 – Wall thermostat with humidity sensor
HmIP-WRC2 – Wall mounted remote control – 2 buttons
HmIP-WRC6 – Wall mounted remote control – 6 buttons
HmIP-WRCR – Pivoting button
HmIP-SMI55-2 – PIR motion detector – for 55 mm frame, indoor
The wireless device in the stand will have a higher weight, which will provide more stability to the device base and at the same time extend the working time of the device by using larger batteries.
Thanks to the non-slip feet of the base, the stand can be freely placed on almost any solid horizontal surface, which can be tables, shelves, cabinets, chests of drawers, etc.
Power supply
Under the cover at the bottom of the device there is a tray for two 1.5 V AA batteries and the stand can thus work very well as a docking power station even for inserted devices without power batteries. If a wireless battery component is integrated into the Battery Stand (HmIP-DS55), the working time of this component will be increased due to the use of AA batteries instead of the commonly used AAA batteries directly in the device.
