Facilitating access

Homematic IP represents a complete revolution in Smart Home, bringing you uncompromising German quality, comprehensive solutions and a wide range of modularity, including a portfolio of products designed to control access, security and safety.

Why open the door with the key when you can open it with the keypad, remotely with the key fob, by voice via the home assistant or from anywhere using the Homematic IP mobile app.

The Wireless Intelligent Keypad (HmIP-WKP) is used for convenient control of building access paths and system functions by entering a numeric code.

The illuminated keypad (HmIP-WKP), designed for convenient unlocking, locking and opening of doors and garage doors in combination with the Door Lock Driver (HmIP-DLD) or Garage Door Controller (HmIP-WGC), is part of the Homematic IP smart home system.

Alarm functions

In addition to the usual user functions, the device offers optional and intuitive access control. It is configured exclusively using the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP) and via the Homematic IP mobile app. This opens up additional functionalities of the smart home system to the user with the possibility of programming scenarios, displaying status information, as well as optimizing access functions such as individual access profiles.

Brightness sensor

Assign different codes to family members, close friends, caregivers or babysitters to determine who can enter the house and when. In addition, codes can be defined to control the building security mode, lights and garage door controls. You can configure up to eight access codes (with 4-8 digits) using the Homematic IP application.
The user can individually define and at the same time control access to the entrance thanks to configurable access permissions regardless of the day of the week or time. An example would be cleaning staff or a care service that will only be able to enter an apartment or house using an individual PIN number on a certain day of the week and at a certain time.

The user will be able to control access via the Homematic IP mobile app, which records and displays information about which doors have been opened and when.

Security is ensured by the detection of a high number of incorrect PIN access code entries. You choose how many times the PIN code can be entered incorrectly before the keypad is locked. Alternatively, you can set a time delay between each attempt.

Use

Whether you’ve accidentally had a knock or just want to go for a run without the constraints of house keys, with the Homematic IP Keypad (HmIP-WKP) and Door Lock Drive (HmIP-DLD) you always have your home open! The Keypad (HmIP-WKP) can also be used to control object security and lighting modes. You can also activate a predefined scenario by entering a PIN code . For example, the light can be automatically switched on when entering the house and switched off when leaving.
The keyboard has an integrated proximity sensor that activates the backlight when your hand approaches the keyboard.
The settings are stored in the keyboard itself, so it works even if the internet connection is down. The IP44 splash-proof design and operating temperature range between -20 °C and +55 °C ensures reliable operation even in the most demanding conditions.

System operation

The wireless connection of the Keypad (HmIP-WKP) to the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP) offers convenient setup and control of the comprehensive Homematic IP smart home system using an intuitive app (for Android and iOS in CZ) designed for smartphones. The mobile app enables instant response to messages and alerts from your smart home system and connects all Homematic IP devices via a free, unlimited cloud, which allows you to set up and control the system from anywhere in the world, transfer important information and update the software and firmware of the devices, and pass configuration and operational commands from the Homematic IP app to individual smart home devices.

Communication protocol

For secure, stable and reliable communication, the system has its own unique radio technology at the operating frequency of 868.0 – 869.525 MHz with fully encrypted AES-128 communication. Operating on this frequency limits wireless transmissions to 1% of the clock time, ensuring long battery life for connected devices and users are not exposed to continuous wireless radiation. In addition, the central unit (HmIP-HAP) reliably detects radio interference.

The security of the wireless IP protocol has been tested by the independent testing laboratory Techniker-Verband VDE in Germany and the testing institute AV-TEST.

The Homematic IP wireless technology allows communication with components up to 400 m in the open or over several floors of a high-rise building, enabling reliable connection of devices even in remote locations. And if it is necessary to increase the range, it is sufficient to add a Switching socket (HmIP-PSM-PE) locally, which also acts as a signal repeater or another Central Unit (HmIP-HAP).

Protection in case of sabotage

The Wireless Keypad (HmIP-WKP) includes a tamper contact that reliably detects tampering and triggers an alarm. Inter-device communication ensures that the alarm is triggered even without an internet connection.

Power supply

The 2 AAA replaceable power batteries allow low maintenance operation and ensure the device will run for up to 2 years (in the case of lithium power batteries, the operating time can be up to several times longer depending on the frequency of use of the device). As soon as the capacity of the supply batteries is reduced to a minimum, the user is informed by the Homematic IP application.

Easy installation

The PIR motion detector package includes a bracket for fixed wall mounting This greatly increases the safety of the system, as there are no cables outside that can be tampered with.

Wide range of uses

Ideal for versatile use in homes, offices, businesses, healthcare facilities, etc.
