Conventional thermostatic heads are usually not the solution because they cannot optimise your individual needs. This is just one of the many reasons to get Homematic IP (HmIP-eTRV) smart thermostatic heads for heating automation.
Wireless PIR motion detector with brightness sensor (HmIP-SMO-A-2)
In the stand-alone heating control set (HmIP-SK9), the sensor, in combination with the wireless Basic thermostatic head (HmIP-eTRV-B), acts as a magnetic contact that transmits information when a window is detected open and the thermostatic head automatically reduces the hot water supply to the radiator. As soon as the window is closed, the radiator starts to raise the room temperature again.
The sensor, if the kit is extended with a Central Unit (HmIP-HAP), can be conveniently integrated into the Homematic IP smart home system via a free smartphone app and used with comprehensive applications to control heating, air conditioning, security and other functions of the Homematic IP smart home solution.
Easy installation
Wireless communication and battery operation offer the possibility of easy installation without the need for wiring. Adhesive tapes or screws and dowels are included for hassle-free installation of the fixings in the selected location.
Wireless Thermostatic Head Basic (HmIP-eTRV-B) with LED display
The hi-tech solution of the Homematic IP thermostatic controllers consists mainly of a unique algorithm and a stepper motor control mechanism. Replacing conventional thermostatic radiator heads, they control room temperature and the heating process according to individual needs, resulting in immediate savings and energy cost reductions of up to 30%.
Each Homematic IP head has an integrated temperature sensor. Up to three adjustable heating profiles: the temperature can be regulated in time intervals (up to 6 heating phases per day with individually adjustable temperature).
Easy installation
Direct mounting on radiator bodies with M30 x 1.5 mm thread or using the supplied adapter for most standard radiator valve types (RA – included).
Simply remove the existing head and replace with a Basic head from the Homematic IP series (HmIP-eTRV-B).
The heads are equipped with a built-in valve protection function against limescale and frost from calcification and freezing. Power is provided by two AA batteries with a life of up to 2 years.

The Homematic IP thermostatic heads can be installed in bedrooms and children’s rooms thanks to their quiet operation and damped housing design technology, which is one of the main advantages of the head for your carefree and undisturbed sleep.
System operation
The system will start to be really sophisticated in the combination of thermostatic head (HmIP-eTRV), window and door sensor (HmIP-SWDx) and Central Unit (HmIP-HAP), where it is possible to fully use all system functionalities, including intelligent heating prediction, for maximum energy savings. In the mobile app (for Android and iOS in CZ), you can set up to several weekly temperature profiles, different daily temperature increase or decrease modes (per day and room) or a variety of advanced scenarios.
When creating profiles and scenarios, you can take into account all your needs for heating automation with regard to energy savings and sensible temperature. You can set the night mode so that you get a good night’s sleep, wake up to a comfortable temperature in the morning and enter a pre-warmed bathroom.
