Conventional thermostatic heads are usually not the solution because they cannot optimise your individual needs. This is just one of the many reasons to get the Homematic IP (HmIP-eTRV-x) smart thermostatic head for heating automation.

Elegant design and practical design with universal use and exceptional user-friendliness of the Homematic IP smart mobile app for easy and intuitive configuration of the smart home system.

It offers reliable heating control and energy saving solutions for various types of buildings such as houses, apartments, cottages, offices, garages, shops, warehouses or offices.

The set includes three basic devices for reliable heating control and energy saving solutions for different types of buildings with the possibility of modular expansion and purchase of other components of the Homematic IP security and smart home system such as fire detectors, PIR motion detectors, sirens, keypads, flood sensors, remote controls, switched sockets, etc.

Central unit (HmIP-HAP)

It works as an access point and offers convenient setup and control of the complex Homematic IP security and smart home system via an Ethernet connection and an intuitive app (for Android and iOS in CZ localization) designed for smartphones. Mobile applications enables instant response to messages and alerts from your smart home system and connects all devices Homematic IP via a free, unlimited cloud, which allows setup and control of the system from anywhere in the world, transferring important information and updating the software and firmware of the device, transmitting configuration and operational commands from the Homematic IP app towards the individual smart home devices.

Of course, voice control via the home assistant is also available (communication with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa supported).

System capacity

Up to 15 users, 80 system components, video cameras and countless scenarios can be connected to the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP). By connecting an additional Central Unit (HmIP-HAP), the system can be expanded by up to 40 additional system components(maximum 120 components and 2 Central Units per installation).

Wireless thermostatic head (HmIP-eTRV-2) with LED display

The hi-tech solution of the Thermostatic Heads (HmIP-eTRV-2) is mainly based on a unique algorithm and stepper motor control mechanism. Replacing conventional thermostatic radiator heads, they control room temperature and the heating process according to individual needs, resulting in immediate savings and energy cost reductions of up to 30%.

Each Homematic IP thermostatic head has an integrated temperature sensor. Up to three adjustable heating profiles: the temperature can be regulated in time intervals (up to 6 heating phases per day with individually adjustable temperature).

The system becomes truly sophisticated when combining the Thermostatic Head (HmIP-eTRV-x), Window and Door Sensor (HmIP-SWDx) and Central Unit (HmIP-HAP), where all system functionality can be fully utilised including intelligent heating prediction for maximum energy savings. In the mobile app (for Android and iOS in CZ), you can set up to several weekly temperature profiles, different daily temperature increase or decrease modes (per day and room) or a variety of advanced scenarios.

When creating profiles and scenarios , you can take into account all your needs for heating automation with regard to energy savings and sensible temperature. You can set the night mode so that you get a good night’s sleep, wake up to a comfortable temperature in the morning and enter a pre-warmed bathroom.

Enjoy moments of leisure in your living room at an individually set temperature or save precious energy while you’re away from home.

Uninterrupted sleep

The Homematic IP thermostatic heads (HmIP-eTRV-x) can be installed in bedrooms and children’s rooms thanks to their quiet operation and damped housing design technology, which is one of the main advantages of the head for your carefree and undisturbed sleep.

Easy installation

Direct mounting on radiator bodies with M30 x 1.5 thread or using the supplied adapters for most standard radiator valve types(RA, RAV and RAVL – included). Simply remove the existing head and replace with a head from the Homematic IP range.

The heads are equipped with a built-in valve protection function against limescale and frost from calcification and freezing. Power is provided by two AA batteries with a lifetime of up to 2 years.

Optical window and door sensor HmIP-SWDO

The sensor does not work on the conventional magnetic contact principle and no additional magnet attachments are required for its functionality, which greatly simplifies installation. The integrated optical system of the infrared light barrier reliably detects an open or closed window or door.
Within the Homematic IP system, a small sensor takes on several tasks simultaneously.

Alarm functions

In security mode, the system immediately performs the preconfigured operation by activating the optical sensor . The Homematic IP mobile app provides the user with up-to-date information on the security status in the smart home system, thus offering a sense of security when leaving the property or home, whether on the move or elsewhere.

The opening and closing of windows and doors is immediately detected and the user is informed via push notifications from the Homematic IP mobile app on the smartphone.

In addition, your home or building can be even safer if your security solution includes a Siren – indoor(HmIP-ASIR-2) or Siren – outdoor(HmIP-ASIR-O). In this case, if the window or door protection is breached, a loud alarm sound is automatically triggered.

Alarm functions

In the heating and air conditioning control mode, it provides automatic energy saving in heating by communicating with the Thermostatic Head (HmIP-eTRV-2) immediately after opening a window or door, limiting or closing the heat supply to the radiator body.

The degree of temperature reduction can even be defined by the user. When the window or door is closed, the heating is activated again until the room temperature is back to the pre-configured level.

In this efficient way, the room temperature and the heating or air conditioning process can be controlled according to individual needs, resulting in immediate savings and a reduction in energy costs of up to 30%. Here, it is particularly practical to define the possibility of setting a delay for doors that are frequently used to avoid the constant repetition of opening and closing of the radiator thermostatic head.

Protection in case of sabotage

The wireless optical sensor includes a tamper contact that reliably detects tampering and triggers an alarm. Inter-device communication ensures that the alarm is triggered even without an internet connection.

Power supply

Weighing just 30 grams, the small sensor operates continuously and efficiently for up to 2 years on just one AAA battery. The user is informed by the Homematic IP application when the power battery capacity is reduced to a minimum.

Easy installation

Wireless communication and battery operation offer the possibility of easy installation without the need for wiring. Adhesive tapes or small screws are included for carefree installation of the fixings at the selected location. In addition to the mounting material, the package also includes a spare front cover in brown for the possibility of replacement with respect to the colour of the window or door frame.

Smart mobile app Homematic IP

Once the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP) is connected to the internet, all functions can be used via the free Homematic IP smart device app available for Android and iOS. The intuitive application in Czech localization is regularly updated and extended with additional functions and devices, offering a clear overview of all possible functions and scenarios. The mobile app allows control of several central units in different installations (e.g. for holiday homes, apartment or cottage rentals, etc.).

Smart home voice control

A large number of Homematic IP devices and system functions offer convenient voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Communication and security

The central unit (HmIP-HAP) is connected to a standard router via an Ethernet cable (RJ-45) and serves as an interface between the Homematic IP cloud located exclusively on servers in Germany and the installed Homematic IP devices.

For secure, stable and reliable communication, the system has its own unique radio technology at the operating frequency of 868.0 – 869.525 MHz with fully encrypted AES-128 communication. Operation on this frequency limits wireless transmission to 1% of the time per hour, thus ensuring long battery life of connected devices and users are not exposed to continuous wireless radiation. In addition, the central unit (HmIP-HAP) reliably detects radio interference.

The security of the wireless IP protocol has been tested by the independent testing laboratory Techniker-Verband VDE in Germany and the testing institute AV-TEST.

The Homematic IP wireless technology allows communication with components up to 400 m in the open or over several floors of a high-rise building, enabling reliable connection of devices even in remote locations. And if it is necessary to increase the range, it is sufficient to add a Switching socket (HmIP-PSM-PE) locally, which also acts as a signal repeater or another Central Unit (HmIP-HAP).

Privacy Protection

No personal data is collected during activation or operation, so users remain completely anonymous, even though the system is cloud-based.
