Use
The small, compact detector can be used as a motion alarm sensor in the Homematic IP smart home system or for remote brightness-dependent light switching and connection to other Homematic IP products via a free mobile app.

Alarm functions
The PIR motion detector (HmIP-SMI) is activated as soon as the sensor detects motion during active protection. The system immediately performs a preconfigured operation and informs the user of the event via push notifications of the Homematic IP mobile app on the smartphone.
In addition, your home or building can be even safer if your security solution includes an indoor siren (HmIP-ASIR-2) or an outdoor siren (HmIP-ASIR-O). In this case, if the window or door protection is breached, a loud alarm sound is automatically triggered.
Brightness sensor
The brightness thresholds of the integrated sensor and the switching time can be individually and continuously set via the mobile app. If it becomes dim or completely dark, activating the device will perform a system preconfigured operation or scenario.
When used for light control after motion detection , the duration of the luminaire illumination can be continuously adjusted in the Homematic IP application.
Protection in case of sabotage
The wireless PIR motion detector includes a tamper contact that reliably detects tampering and triggers an alarm. Inter-device communication ensures that the alarm is triggered even without an internet connection.
Power supply
The 2 AA replaceable power batteries allow for low maintenance operation and provide up to 3 years of service. As soon as the capacity of the supply batteries is reduced to a minimum, the user is informed by the Homematic IP application.
Easy installation
Thanks to its compact size and battery operation, the PIR motion detector offers easy installation without the need for wiring. The detector comes with two types of brackets. Holder for fixed mounting (on walls, in corners of the room, etc.) using the supplied mounting material (dowels, screws) and holder (stand) for free, static placement of the detector (on a shelf, cabinet, etc.).
