One of these devices is the wireless Wall Thermostat with Humidity Sensor and Switched Output 24 V (HmIP-BWTH24) from the Homematic IP series for flush mounting with a 1.74″ backlit LED display to show the current temperature and humidity, representing an intelligent way to control heating and save energy.
Programmable Wall Thermostat with Humidity Sensor (HmIP-BWTH24) is part of the Homematic IP smart home system, it allows time-controlled temperature control and control of several thermostatic radiator heads (HmIP-eTRV) from the Homematic IP series in one room.
The device can be operated independently of the system, connected directly to the actuators (HmIP-FAL) of the Homematic IP underfloor heating.
Individual control of other peripherals via relay output (max. 24 W) according to defined profiles.
With its compact dimensions, the Wall Mounted Thermostat (HmIP-BWTH24) is comparable in size to a light switch. The device can be intuitively operated via a rotary ring that also acts as a button. The temperature can be precisely set in 0.5 °C increments, which is then automatically transmitted to the floor heating actuator (HmIP-FAL) or the central unit (HmIP-HAP).
System operation
The wireless connection of the Wall Thermostat (HmIP-BWTH24) to the Central Unit (HmIP-HAP) offers convenient setup and control of the comprehensive Homematic IP smart home system using an intuitive app (for Android and iOS in CZ) designed for smartphones. Mobile applications enables instant response to messages and alerts from your smart home system and connects all devices Homematic IP via a free, unlimited cloud, which allows setup and control system from anywhere in the world, transferring important information and updating the software and firmware of the device, transmitting configuration and operational commands from the Homematic IP app towards the individual smart home devices.
Alarm functions
Up to three adjustable heating profiles: the temperature can be regulated in time intervals (up to 6 heating phases per day with individually adjustable temperature).
Other heating, cooling or air conditioning devices can also be controlled via Homematic IP switching actuators. The wall thermostat can control both heating and cooling operation.
Thanks to the integrated sensor, it allows, among other things, to evaluate the humidity level in the room and thus effectively control the air conditioning or ventilation.
Possible applications of the thermostat include direct control of the heat source or use as a room sensor for measuring and adjusting temperature within a multi-zone control system.
Use of a motion detector
This function can be used if the room temperature needs to be raised quickly. A short press of the ring control button will activate the Boost mode . All selected thermostatic heads will be opened to 80% for 300 seconds and the room will heat up faster.
The wall thermostat display will show a countdown while the Boost mode is active until the mode is exited.

Profiles and scenarios
When creating profiles and scenarios, you can take into account all your needs for heating automation with regard to energy savings and sensible temperature. You can set the night mode so that you get a good night’s sleep, wake up to a comfortable temperature in the morning and enter a pre-warmed bathroom.

Voice control
The Homematic IP smart home system, of which the wall thermostats are a part , supports voice control and communication with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. For safe, stable and reliable communication, the system has its own unique radio technology between the devices.
Power supply
The wall thermostat is mounted in a standard flush-mounted box with a 24 V mains connection. Wireless communication offers the possibility of installation without the need for secondary wiring. This means that the thermostat can be placed in the location of the prepared el. 24 V mains supply and thus measure the room temperature locally.
